Four IMEG projects among ENR Midwest's 'Best'
The Army National Guard Readiness Center and Army Aviation Support FacilityTwo IMEG projects have been named ENR Midwest 2018 Best Projects, with another two projects receiving awards of merit in the annual competition.
- The Army National Guard Readiness Center and Army Aviation Support Facility in Kankakee, Ill., won Best Project in the Government/Public Buildings category. IMEG provided MEP, fire protection, and telecommunications design for the LEED Silver, $64.6 million facility. Bailey Edward was the project architect, and the general contractor was George Sollitt Construction Co. Read more.
- The Trumpf Smart Factory in Hoffman Estates, Ill., won Best Project in the Manufacturing category. IMEG provided structural, MEP, fire protection, and technology design for the $15 million, 57,000-square-foot project. Heitman Architects was architect of record for the project, designed by Barkow Leibinger of Berlin, Germany. General contractor was McShane Construction. Read more.
- The Savanna-Sabula Deck-Tied Arch Bridge Replacement in Savanna, Ill., won an award of merit in the Highways/Bridges category. IMEG provided bridge inspection services on the project for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
- The Chamberlain Group Headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill., won an award of merit in the office/retail/mixed use category. IMEG provided LEED enhanced commissioning services for the project, which is seeking LEED Certification.

Independent juries of industry leaders in design and construction judge the projects on the project team’s ability to overcome challenges, as well as the project’s construction and design quality, safety record, and contribution to the industry and community.
The 2018 winners will be featured in the Nov. 26 edition of ENR Midwest and will be honored at an awards ceremony Nov. 28 in Chicago. They also will advance to compete in ENR's Best of the Best Projects 2018, a national juried competition. Read more.
