IMEG provided MEP engineering services for this new 81,000-SF educational facility. The building includes classrooms, computer labs, science labs, industrial labs, nursing labs and robotics labs. The rotunda, commons, and library spaces offer students the experience of a University in their local community.
The building has two mechanical penthouses, concealed on either side of the central rotunda, that house the heating water and chilled water systems along with two custom air handling units suitable for the demands of higher education facilities. HVAC design also featured a welding shop exhaust system in the industrial lab with eight individual snorkel arms for student safety.
Electrical design featured two separate bus bars in the industrial lab space to allow for either 208V or 480V connections to various equipment used in a hands-on vocational training environment.
