An IMEG project has been named Best Management Practice Project of the Year in the Lake County (Ill.) Stormwater Management Commission’s 2017 Stormwater Awards.
The College of Lake County Parking Lot Rehabilitation project installed more than 2,500 linear feet of native vegetation bioswales within and adjacent to four of the campus parking lots in Grayslake, Ill. The bioswales reduce, slow and clean urban runoff before the stormwater flows into a nearby lake and creek. IMEG provided surveying services, parking lot design to provide more efficient routes, stormwater management (including the bioswale design), and permitting.
The annual Stormwater Awards recognize outstanding efforts by organizations, communities, groups, and individuals for projects and other proactive and innovative efforts to improve water quality, reduce flooding, and help restore the natural drainage system in Lake County.
