Marie Purkert named a governor of NAIOP Research Foundation
Marie Purkert has joined the NAIOP Research Foundation Governors as its 81st member, a lifetime distinction. Purkert was inducted by foundation chairman Skip Kalb, Jr. (pictured) in October at the CRE.Converge 2022 in Chicago.
In her role as Governor, Purkert will help shape and guide the Foundation’s research agenda as well as the future of the commercial real estate industry through service on its committees, giving time, and sharing expertise.
The Foundation researches the trends, economic viability, and needs of the built environment and is an integral part of NAIOP, the national commercial real estate development association focused on office, industrial and mixed-use real estate.
Purkert helps lead market positioning and business development strategy across the East Coast for christopher consultants, now IMEG.
She joined NAIOP Northern Virginia in 2011 and actively participates in its committees and programs. She was named a NAIOP Research Foundation Visionary in 2020, a mentorship program for rising industry leaders under age 40. She is active in CREW DC and is co-chair of the Professional Development Committee and since 2014 has sat on the Board of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, where she also serves on the Governance Committee.
Purkert earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations, and a master’s degree in real estate development, from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
