New Nine-Story Bed Tower
IMEG provided medical equipment planning for Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Omaha Hubbard Center 460,000-sf tower addition. The new tower houses 48 Bed NICU with all private rooms, 30 Bed PICU, 30 Bed CCU, Observation Unit, Pharmacy, Surgical Suite, Diagnostic Imaging, Expanded Emergency department, and Sterile Processing. Project is a contractual Integrated Project Delivery Model (IPD) which includes on-site presence for all teams. Medical equipment planners worked with the owner to validate equipment on an express schedule, produced a next-level Revit model for the architect to improve coordination and reduce change orders, provided procurement assistance services, and were on site during construction to resolve issues and prevent delays.
A cloud-based database, provided and maintained by IMEG, was accessible by all design and construction team members to provide continuously updated information for easy coordination and issue resolution. Revit models were on a cloud-based system for live and continuous coordination with both the Architectural Team and Contractor as part of the IPD process. IMEG managed the procurement process and integrated with the receiving, storage, and installation vendor on the phased-occupancy of the building to help maintain the targeted opening date.
The equipment design included an efficient workflow for the project’s seven state-of-the-art new operating rooms including, adding to eight existing operating room platform. The new rooms include one trauma and one Cardiac Capable suite. The operating rooms consist ceiling-mounted booms and lights and high-resolution large screen displays to make diagnostic decisions for patients.
Private patient rooms were designed to create an environment for personalized care to aid in quicker recovery.
