Residence Hall and Dining Facility Renovation

The renovation of the Corbin Olson Residence Halls included new HVAC, plumbing, lighting, security and access control, and furniture upgrades to both residence halls, as well as renovation of the dining hall, common areas, and fine at living learning communities. It also included computer labs
and large classroom / conference space, bathroom reconfiguring, suite-style rooms, trash and recycling handling, window system replacements, hazardous material abatement, code improvements, and handicap accessible rooms and facilities.

Dining facility renovations include:

  • Test kitchen for student use
  • Dishwashing area with conveyor belt and electric dishwasher
  • Serving area with cash registers, serving lines, and soda dispensers
  • Kitchen area with a Mongolian barbeque, fresh grille, classic food, and healthy food lines
  • A convenience store with reach-in-coolers and snacks
  • Food storage areas consisting of coolers, freezers, and dry storage
  • An office for the head chef
  • A separate dining area with large group and intimate seating areas (approximately 9,000 square feet)
  • Office for cash counting
  • Digital menu boards showing daily menus
