Secondary Improvements

IMEG provided civil, structural, and electrical engineering planning, design, construction, and commissioning services for a retrofit of the aeration system of the 6 MGD wastewater treatment plant.

Improvements included replacing the existing aeration blowers with more efficient turbo blowers, addition of an anoxic zone to promote biological phosphorous removal, dissolved oxygen control of the aeration process, miscellaneous concrete repair, and new electrical switch gear. The project is expected to save the WWTP approximately $90,000 per year in energy costs while updating a 20-year old system.
