Gustavus Adolphus College’s Anderson Hall wins interior design award
Newly remodeled, yet bringing to life some original features, Gustavus’ Adolphus College’s LEED Gold Anderson Hall recently was named an IIDA Northland FAB Award winner. The project was led by architect BWBR with engineering by IMEG.
IMEG provided MEP and fire protection design along with energy modeling, lighting, LEED documentation, construction administration, and CFD modeling services for the restored 70-year-old, 27,465-sf building in St. Peter, MN. Housed within is the Education Department, the Bonnier Multifaith Center, state-of-the-art classrooms, and student gathering and study areas.
The new design reintroduced the original daylighting strategy from 1947, exposing windows and creating an open and airy atrium. In the multifaith space, a luminary pulls diffused western light and draws eyes toward the Minnesota River Valley.
The IIDA Northland FAB Awards celebrate interior design projects that are fresh, artistic, and brilliant, display innovative design solutions, and demonstrate an integrated team approach as judged by a three-person panel of industry experts.
