IMEG-designed autism center now open

IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) new CHOC Children’s Thompson Autism Center in Orange, CA. The two-story, 20,000-sf former medical office building was renovated into a centralized facility providing a variety of services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The facility’s three sections include therapy rooms, assessment rooms, and multidisciplinary exam rooms.

The $9.5 million center opened in March and is designed to be a calming and relaxing environment where children with ASD can thrive; cubbies and nooks throughout provide comforting areas for children who are anxious about their appointments.
