Jupiter Medical Center constructing technologically advanced surgical institute

Jupiter Medical Center is building a new 90,000-sf, state-of-the-art Surgical Institute in Jupiter, Fl.

The $100 million facility will house 16 “smart” operating rooms and two hybrid operating rooms.

IMEG is providing healthcare information technology (HIT) oversight and program management for the project as a subconsultant to The Burwood Group.

The new operating rooms will use technology to make patient information and images immediately available to the surgeon. The surgeon also will be able to send images from the operating room to specialists for consultations in real time.

They also will feature 3D image-guided surgery, which helps the surgeon visualize, track, and predict events. With live video feed capabilities, the surgical rooms can support two-way teaching and technology-aided, experiential learning.

Hybrid operating rooms will offer advanced image-guided surgery and open procedures.

Patient-focused technology in the waiting room will offer the patient’s loved ones immediate information on the patient’s status, while protecting patient privacy.

The Surgical Institute is expected to open in 2023.
