Renovations complete at Rice University’s historic Maxfield Hall

IMEG structural engineers recently attended the ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the newly renovated Maxfield Hall at Rice University in Houston. The building was originally constructed in 1912 as the university’s mechanical engineering lab and will now house the statistics department.

IMEG provided structural engineering design and services for the renovation of Maxfield Hall at Rice University in Houston. The project included adding two new stair towers and two new elevators to the existing building and investigating different approaches to mitigate possible flood conditions on the site.
