Voters approve $39 million bond for Tea, S.D., school improvements

Voters in Tea, S.D., have approved a $39 million bond to improve the city’s high school.  

The project includes adding a 1,200-seat performing arts center with practice rooms; a two-story 22-classroom addition that includes science labs; and a 22,000-sf gymnasium with a weight room and wrestling room. 

IMEG will provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services for the project as a subconsultant to Koch Hazard Architects. Jans Corp. Is the construction manager.  

Construction is expected to start by spring and be completed in 2024.
