IMEG acquires Las Vegas-based structural engineering firm

In its first business deal of 2021, IMEG Corp. has acquired Mendenhall Smith Structural Engineers, a Las Vegas-based structural engineering firm.

Founded in 1991, Mendenhall Smith has offered structural engineering services for 30 years, providing skillful and thorough work on a wide variety of projects including the hospitality and entertainment markets along with education, multi-family, and commercial.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mendenhall Smith into our company,” said IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne. “By blending the structural engineering capabilities of Mendenhall Smith with IMEG’s full-service engineering portfolio we have created a strong synergy for future growth in the region – allowing us to leverage a broader base of market and technical expertise.”

Mendenhall Smith Principal Gregg Mendenhall said his firm is looking forward to being part of IMEG, which has an existing structural engineering team of approximately 270 professionals. “We are excited to move into this next chapter of our firm’s growth, expanding our breadth of services,” he said. “This merger brings together decades of experience, enhances our passion for delivering quality work, and allows us to continue developing strong client relationships across the southwest region and beyond.”

Mendenhall and fellow Principal Fraser Smith will continue as principals with IMEG. The firm will continue to operate out of its existing Las Vegas office, doing business as of March 1 as Mendenhall Smith, now IMEG.
