IMEG-designed city hall receives ACEC National Recognition Award

The City of Aspen’s new city hall in Aspen, Colo., received a National Recognition Award in the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) 2023 Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) competition. The award will be presented at the black-tie EEA Gala Dinner and Awards Program in Washington, D.C., on June 13.

IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design as well as energy modeling for the 37,000-sf city hall, a leading-edge showcase of electrification and sustainability with a one-of-a-kind geoexchange system.

The building houses multiple city departments consolidated from other offices around Aspen, community meeting space for public use, and the main city council chambers.

The project first received a 2023 ACEC Colorado Engineering Excellence Award before competing at the national level. Read IMEG’s project case study, watch a highlight video, and find ACEC Colorado’s list of Engineering Excellence Award winners here.
