Seattle-based engineering firm joins IMEG

Rushing, an award-winning Seattle-based mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering, lighting design, energy services, and commissioning firm, has joined IMEG. The merger helps position both firms for continued growth in the Pacific Northwest market.

Rushing has served clients since 2006 in multiple market sectors including arts and culture, commercial, education, government, healthcare, hospitality, housing, and science and technology.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome the Rushing team into our company and obtain their talent and expertise,” said IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne. “IMEG has a long history in sustainable design and by blending both firms’ MEP, lighting, and sustainable design capabilities with IMEG’s full-service engineering design portfolio we have created a strong synergy for future growth. This ultimately strengthens our commitment to helping create positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.”

Rushing co-founder Rae Anne Rushing said the team is excited to become part of IMEG and help expand the firm’s impact in the Pacific Northwest. “By leveraging a broader base of market and technical expertise, Rushing, now known as IMEG, will be able to bring our clients the expertise of a national firm with the client experience of a local consultant,” she said. “We are transformative, people focused, and solution-driven—all traits that match with IMEG’s innovative, client-centric, outcome-based approach.”

The Rushing team will continue to operate from their existing location in Seattle and begin doing business as IMEG. Nick Rich will serve as the Client Executive and team leader with Steven Huff serving as the team’s operations manager.  Rae Anne Rushing remains a firm principal and will continue to support client relationships in a business development role.

Nick Rich said their team is looking forward to being part of IMEG and the ability it brings to offer clients a deeper bench of capabilities and expertise while keeping a local Seattle-based team.
