IMEG provided engineering and design services for a build-out for corporate headquarters relocation of Hyatt Hotels.

The hospitality company’s move into the new 150 N. Riverside Plaza tower brings together 1,000 Hyatt employees that were based at two separate locations. The new headquarters is designed to enhance the workplace environment and improve efficiency, creativity and collaboration opportunities for Hyatt’s employees.

The new headquarters includes both offices and open workstations, conference rooms, an open dining area, and support space.

Design of integrated access control and CCTV surveillance system for all ten floors of the Hyatt space.

Through close collaboration with Hyatt’s Corporate Security Team the location of card readers and camera fields of view were determined.

We worked with the Base Building to ensure a single card solution would allow Hyatt employees to navigate through the various control points in the lobby and the elevators without the need for two credentials.

Both access control and CCTV utilized POE-based connectivity to leverage the IT network and save cost over a traditional proprietary security cable design.

There was a significant amount of coordination with the lock hardware consultant to ensure all exits and controlled doors met City of Chicago life safety codes.
