New Life Science Building
IMEG provided MEP design for Irvine Valley College’s new, 19,750-sf Life Science Building, a two-story facility housing the college’s ife and environmental sciences program.
The building includes lecture, lab, lab support, office, and meeting spaces, along with a greenhouse.
A single package evaporative condenser unit with variable speed-driven fans was designed to supply only the amount of air at any moment to meet the temperature, exhaust air, requirements, and heat load. A digital building control system monitors and initiates the necessary commands to control all mechanical components in the building.
Other sustainable features include low-flow water closets and urinals and energy-efficient lighting.
