Joe Amato, PE, LEED AP, is a Project Executive in IMEG’s Long Island office.

Joe has more than 30 years of experience and has considerable knowledge of major New York municipalities, private institutions, and universities. He has an extensive background in HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems, and has a deep understanding of electrical and fire alarm systems, as well as water distribution, drainage, storm water, wastewater, and hydraulic systems. Joe also provides technical assistance and QA/QC oversight.

Joe has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pratt Institute and a master’s degree in environmental science from Long Island University. He has been involved with ACEC New York, serving in various leadership roles and capacities. He was the Chairman of the New York State Organization, served on organization’s board of directors and executive committee, and served as the legislative committee chairman. Joe was also the Long Island Region Chairman and still serves on the board of directors for the Long Island region. He is also currently on the board of governors for the New York Building Congress Foundation. Joe was also named the ACEC New York 2017 Engineer of the Year.
