IMEG’s Clifford Schwinger to be honored with AISC’s Lifetime Achievement Award 

IMEG Senior Structural Engineer Clifford Schwinger, PE, will receive the American Institute of Steel Construction’s (AISC) Lifetime Achievement Award.  

The award honors engineers who have made a difference in the success of AISC and the structural steel industry.  

Schwinger has more than 40 years of experience in structural design and is a nationally recognized quality assurance expert. He joined The Harman Group, now IMEG, in 1986. As a senior project engineer, he performed structural design for the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ, the Marriott Convention Center Hotel in Philadelphia, PA, the Bahamas Financial Centre in Nassau, Bahamas, and the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences in Charleston, WV, among others. 

From 2002 to 2022, he was THG’s full-time Quality Assurance Manager. Since IMEG’s acquisition of THG, Schwinger has continued to conduct structural engineering quality assurance reviews for many of the firm’s projects prior to completion of design.  

Schwinger has authored many articles and presents seminars and webinars nationwide. He has presented for the AISC Night School and has been a regular speaker at the NASCC Steel Conference for 15 years. As an AISC member, he serves on the Committee on Manuals as the Chair of Subcommittee M1, “Main Member Design.” He also is a member of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers. 

He will receive his award at the AISC national conference in April 2023.
