Near net-zero music barn wins environmental award

IMEG and its project team partners have received a Mountain Region Environments Leadership Award for the design of the LEED Gold Tippet Rise Art Center Olivier Music Barn in Fishtail, MT.

The award was presented by the U.S. Green Building Council Mountain Region during the USGBC Montana Annual Summit May 9 in Missoula. The event honors sustainability leaders and professionals who are exploring solutions to a more resilient, profitable, and equitable built environment.

The Tippet Rise Art Center is located on a 12,000-acre sheep and cattle ranch and hosts classical chamber music and recitals and exhibits large-scale, outdoor sculptures. The Olivier Music Barn hosts the center’s Friday and Saturday evening concerts, films screenings, and Shakespearean dramas.

IMEG’s Billings office provided MEP design and commissioning services for the project, which features near-net-zero energy consumption due to a design modeled to use 78% less energy than the baseline code.
