UM HESC now open and featured by BD+C magazine
The University of Minnesota’s new Health Sciences Education Center (HSEC) in Minneapolis is now open, providing interdisciplinary education and interaction for UM’s health professional schools.
IMEG provided MEP design for the $109M, 202,000-sf center, featured by Building Design + Construction magazine. “The new Health Sciences Education Center is much more than a building; it is a catalyst for change as we prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said Mark Rosenberg, MD, Vice Dean for education and academic affairs in the Medical School, who is quoted in the article.
The new HSEC includes the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs, Biomedical Library and Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine, and simulation labs on two floors that allow students to understand the patient experience work alongside their interdisciplinary peers.
