Women in Engineering 2023: Meet IMEG’s Katie Goldberg

A structural engineer and project executive for IMEG, Katie Goldberg’s ability to connect with people lifts everyone around her.

“She is a beacon of positivity and leadership. She enjoys making connections with folks and is frequently soliciting and giving referrals,” says her manager, IMEG Client Executive Eric Reinsch. “She’s bringing in more business, not just for our team, but for the St. Louis and nationwide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil engineering teams.”

Under her leadership, revenue for structural engineering services at IMEG’s St. Louis office has grown and her structural engineering group has approximately doubled in size.

Katie’s business acumen, relationship-building skills, and sense of fun have led to new projects and partnerships in St. Louis and beyond, to southern California and the East Coast.

Katie joined IMEG as a structural engineer in 2006 and was promoted to senior engineer in 2014 and then into a leadership role as project executive in 2018. Over that time, she earned her professional engineering license and an MBA. Her design experience covers a variety of markets including healthcare, commercial, senior living, mixed use, educational, institutional, retail, and government.

She’s part of a strong cadre of women working in design, engineering, and construction fields, who empower each other, and other women, to build successful careers. Katie volunteers for St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers and St. Louis Commercial Real Estate Women, by sitting on committees, volunteering at events, and being an advocate for the organizations and a role model to encourage women to join construction and real estate industries.
