Historic Hotel Site Plan

The Residence Inn by Mariott is a six-story (plus basement), 71,175-sf newly constructed hotel and commercial structure in Downtown Missoula, occupying the historic Missoula Mercantile. IMEG was responsible for the civil site design addressing back-of-house entry along the alleyway to the south, as well as a recess along the south elevation providing for a separate entry to the basement bar/restaurant and exit door for the south stairwell, utility designs, grading and drainage design, sanitary sewer and stormwater designs, and transportation improvements. Additionally, IMEG provided all surveying services including topographic mapping, right-of-way retracement, and boundary mapping.

The project groundbreaking took place in 2018 and the hotel opened in the fall of 2019.
