LEED Gold and Platinum Bilingual Charter School

IMEG provided civil engineering and surveying services for the renovation of Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School in Washington D.C., which is the first “green” public charter school in the area. Project efforts included schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and construction administration services for the new LEED Platinum annex and the LEED Gold renovation of the historic elementary. Additional services performed included bringing this bilingual charter school into compliance with the DC Green Building Act. Survey services included ALTA/ACSM land title surveys and existing conditions surveys.

The new school and annex building accommodates 500 students. The design of the campus includes garden classrooms and a grey water system. Mundo Verde was the first charter school in D.C. to achieve LEED Gold and Platinum certifications.
