New Family Health Center

IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and technology engineering design services to provide a comfortable and safe healthcare facility for patients and clinical staff.

The project combined mixed healthcare uses and included specialty services including a blood lab, radiology, endoscopy, and high-level disinfection spaces. IMEG collaborated with the owner and architect to design high performance and energy efficient systems to meet the strict healthcare guidelines and provide comfort and reliability for the end-users.

One challenge the design team faced was zoning the HVAC systems to accommodate the dynamic occupancy nature of various parts of the building. IMEG utilized a plate/frame energy recovery system to utilize all of the exhaust air from the Emergency Department for tempering outdoor air to the HVAC system. There is a projected energy savings of 19.2% over ASHRAE-90.1.
