New Health, Literacy, and Recreation Hub
IMEG provided MEP and fire protection engineering design services, along with construction administration, for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) new 76,530-sf South Philadelphia Community Health and Literacy Center, a result of the partnership between CHOP and the City of Philadelphia.
Engineering design services included HVAC, fire alarm design, medical gases for the primary care clinic, and full emergency and standby electric power system.
CHOP’s primary care center and the city’s health center comprise 50,710-sf, with the remaining space allocated to the South Philadelphia Library and the DiSilvestro Recreation Center, lobbies, and support space.
The center offers clinical care, education and research, support and recreational services to a diverse population from local communities.
