New High School Learning Center

Edward R. Roybal Learning Center is situated on a 35acre site that includes four small learning communities and two pilot schools, with a total of 104 classrooms. The project consisted of the demolition of two existing buildings, completion of four existing buildings, 500,000-sf parking garage, and the construction of two new buildings (130,000-sf). The installation of an active and passive full methane mitigation system was also included in the design. 

IMEG provided engineering design and services for the project and obtained CDE, DSA and DTSC as well as the EIR certification and the Project Board approvals. Los Angeles Unified School District received three awards for this project: one recognizing project leadership, another for construction excellence, and the National Marvin Black Partnering Award.
