Renovation of an Aerospace Ground Support Facility

IMEG developed a solution for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company to transit the Launch Abort System (LAS) through an enlarged opening above the existing door of the former NASA Canister Rotation Facility. Launch Abort System Facility (LASF) modifications and renovations involved changes to the facility infrastructure to accommodate and support the Orion spacecraft operations when outfitted with the Launch Abort System (LAS) and Crew Service Module (CSM); additionally there were significant modifications required of the east environmental door opening to accommodate the height of the Orion in the LAS configuration. Also included were infrastructure modifications to the exit door, stairs, landings, and the spacecraft access stand tie-off structure.
