Dubuque’s Q Casino undergoing a $75 million renovation

The Q Casino in Dubuque is undergoing a $75 million renovation as part of a multi-year expansion plan.

The work is underway and will be completed in five stages:

  • Phase 1: Created a temporary casino by remodeling the viewing area of the former racing grandstand and connecting it to the existing casino floor. Phase 1 is now open.
  • Phase 2: Remodel the lower casino and entertainment area, add bar-top slot machines, with an anticipated opening of summer 2024.
  • Phase 3: Create an all-ages Family Entertainment in the temporary casino space to open early in 2025.
  • Phase 4: Build a new Hilton Tapestry boutique hotel with a rooftop restaurant next to the existing Hilton Garden Inn, to open in fall 2025.
  • Phase 5: Remodel the exterior of the building, add new outdoor signage, and improve landscaping and parking areas by the end of 2025.

IMEG is provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the expansion plan as a subconsultant to design firm Origin Design.

As a subconsultant to DLR Group, the architect of record, IMEG also will provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering services for projects in phases 1 to 4, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the replacement of the facility’s central plant.
