Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL, receives gaming board approval

Penn Entertainment’s new Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL, has received initial approval from the Illinois Gaming Board.

The $360 million land-based casino and hotel will replace the current riverboat casino. The facility will include 900 slots, 50 live table games, a Barstool Sportsbook, approximately 200 hotel rooms, full-service spa, bars and restaurants, and meeting and event space.

The casino and hotel will be built to receive LEED certification. Construction is expected to begin in late 2023, pending other city and regulatory approvals.

IMEG is providing structural and parking engineering services for the project, which is expected to be completed late in 2024.
