IMEG providing design for premier driver training facility pavement surfaces

IMEG is providing field surveying and civil engineering design for improvements to the paved surfaces used for training at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Emergency Vehicle Operations Center (EVOC), one of the premier driver training facilities in the country. The 78-acre site features various training opportunities, including a mile-long high speed track, a large skid pan made of polished concrete that becomes slick when watered, a motorcycle obstacle course, residential street grid with numerous intersections, 4-wheel drive obstacle courses, and a simulated rail crossing.

The design will include rehabilitating most of the pavement surfaces at the site (including the city grid, high-speed track, motorpad, parking, and new ADA accessible parking spaces), as well as upgrading the site lighting, including the replacement of the racetrack site lighting fixture, control system, and conductors.

The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
