Meow Wolf Omega Mart wins ENR Southwest Best Project Award of Merit
The Meow Wolf Omega Mart, an immersive and interactive art installation disguised as a grocery store, has won an ENR Southwest 2021 Regional Best Project Award of Merit in the Specialty Construction category. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design for the 20,000-sf tenant improvement.
Located in Las Vegas’s Area 15 complex, the supermarket allows visitors to browse Omega Mart-branded products while finding secret entrances to hidden areas that feature innovative and surreal artwork displays from over 300 artists. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the art as well as read and watch videos, slide shows, and other story-telling elements within the exhibition to understand the hidden narrative of the space.
Omega Mart took three years to build and opened in February of 2021.
