Phase III engineering services were required to provide construction inspection for the removal and replacement of the structure that carries US 52/IL 64 over the Mississippi River between Savanna, Illinois and Sabula, Iowa. IMEG provided schematic rendering and planning services for a new park, pedestrian bridge replacement, and connecting bike path to Sylvan Island. The city received an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant to remove the existing truss bridge and replace it with a new structure, reusing the existing substructure units. Engineers provided a field topographic survey,
IMEG conducted field investigations, a condition assessment of the existing bridge, a load rating analysis (AASHTO –LFR), calculation of Sufficiency Rating, provided updated NBI Data for Inspection report updates, and seismic evaluation of the bridge. IMEG is providing construction observation, verification, documentation, and inspection services for the $1.4 billion Interstate 74 Bridge Corridor project. The bi-state project spans the Mississippi River in the Quad-Cities between Moline, Ill., and Bettendorf, Iowa.
IMEG provided full-service independent building expert (IBE) services for a new 31-courtroom courthouse. IBE services included civil engineering for third party plan review in coordination with, and addition to, plan reviews by the authorities having jurisdiction over the project. Structural peer review, construction inspector of record, materials testing/special testing and inspections services were also provided.
