New conference focuses on maintenance of tribal roads

A new conference will focus on the Bureau of Indian Affairs road maintenance program and ways to improve and advance tribal transportation infrastructure.

The inaugural National Tribal Road Maintenance Symposium will be May 14-16, 2024, in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Staff from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Division of Transportation and Regional Tribal Transportation Program and leaders in the tribal road maintenance field will provide information about federal road maintenance requirements, best practices, and ways to advance tribal transportation infrastructure and safety.

The conference is scheduled to include presentations on data management, project management, technology and innovation, and field services.
